CEO Blog (3.11.23) – Welcome Back

To everyone who has just had half term, I want to say, ‘welcome back’, and that I hope you had the opportunity to spend some quality time with friends and family over the break.

This first term is usually the toughest, and the October half term is always a welcome pit stop that helps us recharge and get ready for the excitement of the half term leading up to Christmas.

For those of you who are full year, I hope you had an enjoyable week with Holiday Clubs and everything else that happens outside of term time. Thank you for your continued dedication.

This week I have been networking, meeting with Local Authority colleagues to discuss strategic vision. There was lots to talk about what’s happening locally and nationally, and plenty of interesting discussions. I have also spent some time visiting colleagues from other Trusts, to make sure that New Bridge MAT remains outward facing.

By working collaboratively with other Trusts, we put ourselves in the best position to share best practice. That means we benefit as a MAT, but that we also help other MATs too.

Working together is how things get done, and how we shape the best possible offer for all of our young people.

Elsewhere, our Destination Matrix is being launched this week on YouTube. Keep an eye out for the posts and please share when you can. This was something that was very well received during our event for the Department for Education, the Virtual Tour.

As part of the Learning and Impact Portfolio Board, I saw these videos and Destinations through different eyes, when I witnessed a Parent Governor’s reaction.

This is what we are all about, and we must celebrate it and shout it from the rooftops.

We are ‘Destinations’ focused, for all of our young people.

Week 1 of Autumn 2 has flown by and I look forward to updating you next week.

If you are out and about at bonfires this weekend, please stay safe, and don’t forget to have fun.

It’s an exciting time of the year, so let’s embrace it!
